Dean Mitchell began his insurance career in 1997 after being recruited by his own insurance agent to work part-time when off duty as a professional firefighter/paramedic. He quickly learned the business and earned both insurance accreditation and licensing.
After suffering an injury in the fire service, in late 1999 a retiring couple offered Dean the opportunity to purchase their small part-time property only insurance business. Dean accepted and opened a full time professional office in Pflugerville launching the Dean Mitchell Insurance Agency in December 1999. Dean began immediately offering a fully licensed and automated insurance experience, serving customers in the greater Austin Metro and Central Texas areas with a full line of personal insurance products, business and life insurance. Dean has always been committed to providing our customers top level service you won’t find from the big internet direct insurers.
We build relationships and take the time to review and explain insurance coverages and options, so our customers can make the choices that best protect them and serve their needs.
Dean Mitchell is the agency principal and manager. Dean has been an “Austinite” since moving to Austin with his family in 1985 and has resided in and around the Austin area since.
He is married with a daughter in high school. In his spare time he follows his daughter’s sports, loves cooking, volunteering, and enjoys the outdoors with his family whenever possible.
Julie Crain is a licensed agent handling quotes and customer service. Julie came to work for Dean Mitchell Insurance in January 2009 and immediately obtained her property and casualty insurance license.
Julie is a native Austinite and an alumni of Westlake High School and Texas A&M University. She is married with twins, 3 cats and a dog that all keep her busy in her spare time.
